Get Your Pink Or Blue Slip Inspection Today

Is your pink or blue slip vehicle inspection due anytime soon? We sometimes forget that they expire - usually at the most inconvenient times.

A pink slip or an e-safety check is a safety inspection report required in NSW for all registered vehicles. If your car is older than five years, this is a registration renewal requirement.

If your car fails the inspection and you are not issued a pink slip, you need to get your vehicle repaired and up to spec.

Try to get it done in two weeks so that you can get your pink slip at no extra charge. If you get it reinspected longer than a fortnight, you will have to pay for another pink slip application.

Pink slips are also only valid for six months from the date of issue so get it done around the same time your car is due for registration.

A Blue Slip or an authorised unregistered vehicle safety check is a similar vehicle safety inspection, required in NSW but for vehicles that have lapsed regos, was previously registered in another state and for imported cars.

It is a bit more in-depth, checking for leaks, suspension issues, electrical problems and more. Blue slip inspections can also help identify stolen vehicles with fake plates and check if major repairs have been done, making your car no longer up to its manufacturer's standards.

Blue slips are only valid for 28 days after being issued, and you need to get your car repaired or fixed to get one if you don't pass the initial inspection.
